BigP Smarts is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our devices and applications.

Information We Collect

We collect only the data needed to run Big P Smarts and keep you safe:

Account info: phone number (required for OTP login), optional name and email
Emergency contacts you add (name + phone) to deliver SOS alerts
Location data (approximate + precise) when you trigger SOS or allow background detection
App interactions, crash logs, and device identifiers used for diagnostics and security
Optional SOS voice snippets (6‑second audio recorded only if you enable it)
Financial data from Google Play Billing to activate or manage subscriptions

How We Use Your Information

We process data strictly for the following purposes:

Authenticate you with phone + OTP and manage your account
Deliver SOS alerts (SMS, calls, push) to your emergency contacts with your chosen data
Provide device pairing, fall detection, vibration feedback, and subscription features
Upload SOS audio (if enabled) to our backend so contacts can review context
Monitor performance, prevent fraud, and debug issues via Firebase Analytics + Crashlytics
Handle payments and purchase history via Google Play services

Optional SOS Audio Recording

Recording a short SOS voice clip is disabled by default. You can toggle it any time inside the device settings screen.

Audio is stored locally, uploaded over HTTPS only when you trigger SOS, and kept <24h server-side unless contacts access it
If you turn the toggle off, we will never capture or upload SOS audio
We do not use audio for analytics or marketing and never share it with advertisers

Information Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Sharing happens only in these cases:

Emergency contacts receive SOS alerts (SMS/call/push) with your name, location, and optional audio
Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics) receives diagnostic identifiers and event metadata
Google Play Billing processes payment info and purchase history
Service providers hosting our APIs (encrypted databases, email/SMS gateways) operate under strict contracts
Law enforcement requests when legally required

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission and secure storage. All communication between your bracelet, the companion app, and our cloud infrastructure uses end-to-end encryption. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Data Retention & Deletion

You control your data. When you delete your account via the in-app or web form, we immediately remove personal info, contacts, device links, SOS history, and recorded audio from production systems.

Regulatory or billing data (e.g., invoices, fraud logs) may be retained for up to 90 days in separate audit storage
You can request cancellation of a deletion within 24 hours of submission by contacting support
Cached diagnostic data in Firebase is automatically purged per Google’s retention schedule

You have the right to:

Access your personal information
Correct inaccurate information
Delete your account and data
Opt-out of certain data collection
